Description

Fortunate enough to see Jake Chisholm at the Rex Hotel this past Saturday Mar 22, 2014. It was a last minute outing, and we had missed the first set. We did see the second set in it’s entirety, and and extended encore which was loudly demanded by the appreciative crowd culminating in a hendrix inspired version of “The Wind Cries Mary”.
Can’t express how refreshing it was to hear a great guitarist whose guitar actually sounded like a guitar! Don’t get me wrong there are tons of artists who use pedals, effects, computers etc. to get amazing sounds out of their six strings, but the days of a classic Gibson, plugged into a classic fender reverb seem to be long gone. It was a great reminder of just how good a guitar can sound, played by passionate musician with nothing between his fingers and the audience except a classic tube amp.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!
